Blue Streak

Miles Logan (Martin Lawrence) is a jewel thief who, along with some accomplices, steals a $17 million diamond in Los Angeles. Things go awry during the robbery when one accomplice, Deacon (Peter Greene), wants the diamond all for himself. Deacon manages to kill one member of the team and tries to escape with the diamond. This wastes time as Logan and Deacon argue over it, and the police end up closing in on them and Logan makes a quick escape to a nearby construction site. He is forced to hide the diamond in one of the vents, hoping to later come back to the building and claim it. Logan is caught and arrested as a robber, but no proof goes towards his taking the diamond. Deacon is assumed to have escaped, leaving Logan to his fate. Logan spends two years in jail, leaving his girlfriend, Janiece (Tamala Jones) to forget about him. After he gets out of jail (with one shoelace), he returns to his girlfriend's house and assumes that she gained weight when he first sees her cousin instead. She is angry for him lying to her by telling her that he was a banker and turns him out. Logan has no other place to go, so he heads back to the spot where he hid the diamond.
