Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown

Behind closed doors of a seemingly normal college, the ultimate showdown in underground MMA fighting is being planned. Ex-MMA rising star Case Walker (Michael JaiWhite) trains four college-age fighters, each with their own individual obstacles. Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Will Rodman (James Franco) is a San Francisco scientist who has been trying to develop a cure for Alzheimer's disease by testing a genetically engineered retrovirus on chimpanzees. The virus mutates the chimpanzees, giving them a human level of intelligence. One of his test subjects, a female chimpanzee, goes on a rampage because she believes her baby, to whom she secretly gave birth, is threatened. She is killed after disrupting a board meeting. Will's boss Steven Jacobs (David Oyelowo) orders subordinate Robert Franklin (Tyler Labine) to put all the test chimpanzees down, but he cannot bring himself to kill the chimpanzee's baby, and instead gives him to Will, who names him Caesar (Andy Serkis) and raises him in his house. Caesar has inherited his mother's high intelligence, and learns quickly.

Three years later, Will gives a sample of his cure to his father, Charles (John Lithgow), who is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. At first, his father improves but, five years later, his body's immune system fights off the virus and his dementia returns. In his dementia, Charles gets into his neighbor's car and damages it, angering the neighbor (David Hewlett). As he threatens Charles and pushes him down, the onlooking Caesar attacks him. After the incident, Caesar is forced to leave Will's house and is held in a San Bruno primate facility run by John Landon (Brian Cox). The apes are treated cruelly by Landon's son Dodge (Tom Felton) who works as a guard there. Caesar is initially treated poorly by both the staff and the other apes. When Dodge brings his friends into the facility, one of them gets too close to Caesar's cage and is grabbed by Caesar, who steals his pocket knife, later using it to escape his cell. Caesar then frees a gorilla named Buck and, with his help, gains dominance over the other apes.

Meanwhile, Will creates a more powerful form of the virus to further treat his father and new tests on chimpanzees begin. Testing on a bonobo named Koba reveals that it strengthens the intelligence of the apes even further. However, it is fatal to humans, unbeknownst to the scientists. Franklin is exposed to the new virus and begins sneezing out blood. He accidentally sneezes on Will's neighbor, and is later found dead in his apartment. Will attempts to warn Jacobs against further testing, but when Jacobs plans to continue it, Will quits his job.

Caesar eventually escapes from the primate facility and travels to Will's house, where he steals canisters of the new virus and releases it throughout the cage area, enhancing the intelligence of his fellow apes. He beats Dodge down and, after showing his first capability of speech by shouting "No!" at him, electrocutes him by spraying him with a hose while his stun stick is activated. The apes at the facility escape into the city, releasing the remaining apes from Will's former place of work and from San Francisco Zoo.

The apes then force their way past a police blockade of the Golden Gate Bridge meant to stop them from crossing. Jacobs arrives in a helicopter and one of his crewmen begins gunning down apes. Buck sacrifices himself to take down the helicopter, which crashes on the bridge, killing everyone inside except Jacobs. He begs for help, but his helicopter is pushed down into the bay below by Koba. The apes make it into the Muir Woods National Monument forest. Will arrives at the forest and is attacked by Koba, but Caesar stops him from harming Will. Will warns Caesar that humans are strong, but tells him that he can protect him if he returns home. Caesar, now capable of speech, tells him that "Caesar is home" in the redwood forest. Meanwhile, the virus responsible for raising the apes' intelligence has started a global pandemic among humans.

Fast Five

When Dominic "Dom" Toretto (Vin Diesel) is being transported to Lompoc prison by bus, his sister Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) and friend Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) lead an assault on the bus, causing it to crash, freeing Dom. While authorities search for them, the trio escape to Rio de Janeiro. Awaiting Dom's arrival, Mia and Brian join their friend Vince (Matt Schulze) and other participants on a job to steal three cars from a train. While aboard the train, Brian and Mia discover the train is carrying DEA agents and that the cars are seized property. When Dom arrives with the rest of the participants, he realizes that one of them, Zizi (Michael Irby), is only interested in stealing one car – a Ford GT40. Dom has Mia steal the car herself while Dom and Brian fight Zizi and his henchmen, with Zizi killing the DEA agents assigned to the vehicles. Dom and Brian are captured and brought to crime lord – and owner of the cars – Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), Zizi's boss where he orders the pair be interrogated to discover the location of the car. However they manage to escape and retreat to their safehouse.

While Brian, Dom, and Mia examine the car to discover its importance, Vince arrives and is caught trying to remove a computer chip from the car, admitting that he was planning to sell it to Reyes on his own. Dom forces Vince to leave and after investigating the chip, Brian discovers it contains details of Reyes' criminal empire including the locations of $100 million in cash. Following the murder of the DEA agents aboard the train, blamed on Dom and his team, U.S. Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and his team arrive in Rio to capture Dom and Brian. They travel to Dom's safehouse with assistance from local officer Elena Neves (Elsa Pataky), but find it under assault by Reyes' men. Brian, Dom and Mia escape with Dom suggesting they split up and leave Rio, but Mia announces she is pregnant with Brian's child. Dom agrees to stick together and suggests they steal Reyes' money to start a new life. The trio organizes a team to perform the heist, recruiting Han Seoul-Oh (Sung Kang), Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson), Tej Parker (Ludacris), Gisele Harabo (Gal Gadot), Tego Leo (Tego Calderón) and Rico Santos (Don Omar). Vince later joins the team after saving Mia from being captured by Reyes' men, earning Dom's trust once more....Read More!

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

In 1961, the Ark, a Cybertronian spacecraft carrying an invention capable of ending the war between the Autobots and Decepticons, crash lands on the far side of the moon. The crash is detected on Earth by NASA, and President John F. Kennedy authorizes a mission to put a man on the moon as a cover for investigating the craft. In 1969, the crew of Apollo 11 lands on the Moon to explore the craft.

In the present, the Autobots assist the US military in preventing conflicts around the globe. During a mission to Chernobyl to investigate suspected Alien technology, Optimus Prime finds a fuel cell from the Ark, discovering it had survived its journey from Cybertron. The Autobots are attacked by Shockwave who manages to escape. After learning of the top-secret mission to the moon, the Autobots travel there to explore the Ark. There they discover a comatose Sentinel Prime — former Autobot leader — and his creation, The Pillars, a means of establishing a Space Bridge between two points to teleport matter. After returning to Earth, Optimus uses the energy of his Matrix of Leadership to revive Sentinel Prime.

Meanwhile, Sam Witwicky is frustrated that he is unable to work with the Autobots and failing to find a job. He also becomes envious of the close relationship between his new girlfriend, Carly Spencer, and her boss Dylan Gould. After finding work, Sam is provided information by his co-worker Jerry Wang about the Ark before he is assassinated by Laserbeak — a condor-like Decepticon. Sam contacts the now-retired Seymour Simmons, and together they realize that Megatron and the Decepticons are murdering people connected to the American and Russian space missions to the Ark. They locate two surviving Russian cosmonauts who reveal satellite photos of hundreds of Pillars being stockpiled on the moon. Sam realizes that the Decepticons raided the Ark long before the Autobots mission and intentionally left Sentinel and five Pillars behind to lure the Autobots into a trap - Sentinel being key to activating the Pillars and the Decepticons lacking the means to revive him. The Autobots rush to return Sentinel to their base for protection but Sentinel betrays them and kills Ironhide, revealing he had made a deal with the Decepticons to ensure the survival of the Cybertronian race.....Read More!

Source Code

When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he's part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he's ever known, he learns he's part of a government experiment called the "Source Code," a program that enables him to cross over into another man's identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack.

Priest

In the future, the war between humans and vampires has devastated the world. The Church, the future incarnation of the Roman Catholic Church, created an elite spiritual warrior organization, dubbed "Priests", who were capable of slaying vampires. The majority of the vampires were killed while the remainder were placed in reservations. The Church created isolated, heavily guarded cities. No longer needing the Priests' services, and fearing their own weapon, the Church disbanded them. Outside the cities humans live outside the totalitarian control of the Church.

One day, an unnamed Priest was approached by Hicks, the sheriff of a nearby town. Hicks tells him that his brother Owen was mortally wounded, sister-in-law (and ex girlfriend), Shannon, were killed by vampires and Priest's niece, Lucy, was kidnapped. Hicks asks for Priest's assistance in tracking down Lucy. Priest goes against the wishes of Monsignor Orelas, the Church's leader, to do so. Monsignor Orelas then sends a group of four Priests led by Priestess to capture him and bring him back, dead or alive.

After saying goodbye to his dying brother, Priest and Hicks arrive at a human but vampire friendly reservation, where they discover that the vampires have taken shelter in Sola Mira. Sola Mira is a vampire hive where Priest lost several of his comrade Priests in a botched mission. There, they are joined by Priestess, who decides to help him because she is in love with him. The group discover that the vampires are using trains to travel, slowly amassing a new army and intending to attack the Priest's city and destroying the Church. They also discover that the inhabitants of Sola Mira had tunneled to the city of Jericho, where the other three Priests had been dispatched by Priestess.

Once in Jericho, the other three Priests are soon confronted by Black Hat, who was one of the Priests who was thought to have been killed in the botched mission at Sola Mira. Black Hat asks the three Priests to become one with the vampire family and kills them when they refuse, leaving their bodies to hang on crosses. Black Hat and his army of vampires then proceed to slaughter the entire town. After Priest, Priestess, and Hicks find the corpses of the three Priests, they discover Black Hat's trail and follow him, eventually catching up to his train along with the other vampires.

While Priestess plants a bomb on the railroad tracks in order to stop the train, Priest and Hicks board the train and confront Black Hat and the vampires and familiars (people infected with a pathogen that makes them subservient to the vampires). Black Hat overpowers both Priest and Hicks. Black Hat reveals that the vampire Queen gave him her blood, turning him into the first vampire-human hybrid. He asks Priest to join him. Priest refuses and fights Black Hat, who reveals the truth of Lucy's parentage to the girl. After the explosives are damaged in a fight with the familiars, Priestess straps the bomb to her motorcycle and crashes it into the train. The explosion kills the vampires and incinerates Black Hat, but Hicks, Priest, and Lucy are able to escape.

Priest returns to the city and confronts Monsignor Orelas, telling him of the burnt train containing the vampires' bodies, which he proves by throwing a vampire head onto the floor. Monsignor Orelas believes that the war is over and Priest's proof is trickery, Priest tells him that it's just beginning. Monsignor Orelas and Priest are at odds with each other when Priest leaves and Priest refuses to even listen to Monsignor Orelas as he walks out. Once he leaves the city and meets with Priestess, she reveals that the other Priests have been notified and will meet them at a rendezvous. Priest sets off into the sunset to later meet up with other priests.

Thor

In 965 A.D., Odin (Anthony Hopkins), king of Asgard, wages war against the Frost Giants of Jotunheim and their leader Laufey (Colm Feore), to prevent them from conquering the Nine Realms, starting with Earth. The Asgardian warriors defeat the Frost Giants and seize the source of their power, the Casket of Ancient Winters.

In the present, Odin's son Thor (Chris Hemsworth) prepares to ascend to the throne of Asgard, but is interrupted when Frost Giants attempt to retrieve the Casket. Against Odin's order, Thor travels to Jotunheim to confront Laufey, accompanied by his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), childhood friend Sif (Jaimie Alexander) and the Warriors Three; Volstagg (Ray Stevenson), Fandral (Joshua Dallas) and Hogun (Tadanobu Asano). A battle ensues until Odin intervenes to save the Asgardians, destroying the fragile truce between the two races. For Thor's arrogance, Odin strips his son of his godly power and exiles him to Earth, accompanied by his hammer Mjolnir — the source of his power, now protected by a spell to allow only the worthy to wield it.

Thor lands in New Mexico, where scientist Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), her assistant Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) and mentor Dr. Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgård), find him. The local populace finds Mjolnir, which S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) soon commandeers before forcibly acquiring Jane's data about the wormhole that delivered Thor to Earth. Thor, having discovered Mjolnir's nearby location, seeks to retrieve it from the facility that S.H.I.E.L.D. quickly constructed but he finds himself unable to lift it, and is captured. With Selvig's help, he is freed and resigns himself to exile on Earth as he develops a romance with Jane. >>>>>More!

Tron: Legacy

In 1989, Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), an innovative software engineer and the CEO of ENCOM International, disappears. Twenty years later, his son, Sam (Garrett Hedlund), who became ENCOM's controlling shareholder after his father's disappearance, takes little interest in the company besides an annual practical joke on the board of directors. Sam is visited by his father's friend and ENCOM executive Alan Bradley (Bruce Boxleitner), who urges Sam to investigate a mysterious page originating from Flynn's old arcade. While exploring the shuttered arcade, Sam discovers a concealed computer laboratory and unintentionally transports himself to the Grid, a virtual world inside the computer.

Sam is captured and taken to the game arena, where he is pitted against Rinzler, the champion of the games. During their duel, Rinzler notices that Sam is not a Program, but rather a User. Rinzler takes Sam before Clu, a digital copy of Kevin Flynn, who rules over the Grid. Clu nearly kills Sam in a Light Cycle match before Quorra (Olivia Wilde) rescues him. Taken to a distant, off-grid hideout in the "Outlands," Sam is reunited with his father.         

Spartacus Gods of the Arena

 

The mini-series features the bloody history of the House of Batiatus and the city of Capua before the arrival of Spartacus. Quintus Lentulus Batiatus becomes a lanista (manager) when he takes over his father's ludus of gladiators. He has ambitions of stepping out of his father's shadow by seeking recognition for his own name and achieving greatness for his house. By his side stands his beautiful wife Lucretia who will help her husband achieve his goal no matter what the cost. Batiatus puts all his fortunes on the man who will gain him fame and glory, his best gladiator, the Celt, Gannicus; a skilled warrior who wields his swords in the arena as if it were his last day alive. However, there are those who oppose Batiatus and his future champion(s) of Capua, plotting against him only to succeed in failure.

The Green Hornet

Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) is the 28-year-old slacker son of widower James Reid (Tom Wilkinson), publisher of the Los Angeles newspaper The Daily Sentinel. Britt is an irresponsible playboy, but his attitude changes when James is found dead from an allergic reaction to a bee sting. After the funeral, Britt fires the staff aside from his maid and Kato (Jay Chou), James' mechanic and a skilled martial artist.

Britt and Kato get drunk together and, upon agreeing that they both hated James, visit the graveyard to cut the head off James' memorial statue as payback. After they succeed, they see a couple being mugged, and rescue them. Britt and Kato are themselves mistaken by police for criminals and chased through the streets, but Kato evades them and he and Britt return to the mansion.

Britt convinces Kato they should become crime-fighters who pose as criminals in order to infiltrate real criminals, and also to prevent enemies from using innocents against them. Kato agrees, and develops a car outfitted with several gadgets and weapons, which they call the Black Beauty. Britt plans to capture Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz), a Russian mobster who is uniting the criminal families of Los Angeles under his command, and whom his father was trying to expose. To get Chudnofsky's attention, Britt uses the Daily Sentinel as a vehicle to publish articles about the "high-profile criminal" the Green Hornet.

Faster

An ex-con sets out to avenge his brother's death after they were double-crossed during a heist years ago. During his campaign, however, he's tracked by a veteran cop and an egocentric hit man. It stars Dwayne Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton, Carla Gugino, Moon Bloodgood, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, and Maggie Grace.

The Mechanic

Arthur Bishop is a 'mechanic' - an elite assassin with a strict code and unique talent for cleanly eliminating targets. Justified Season 1

The Chief Deputy of the Lexington USMS office is Art Mullen, played by Nick Searcy (Cast Away, From the Earth to the Moon). Working alongside Raylan are fellow deputies Tim Gutterson – played by Jacob Pitts (The Pacific) – and Rachel Brooks – played by Erica Tazel (Life, The Office). Raylan, Art and the other deputies do what all U.S. Marshals do – chase down fugitives, protect witnesses, transport prisoners.

True Grit

The film is narrated by the adult Mattie Ross (Elizabeth Marvel), who recounts that in the late fall of 1877, when she was 14, her father was murdered in Fort Smith, Arkansas by one of his hired hands, Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin). Chaney made off with her father's horses and two of his California gold pieces. While collecting her father's body, young Mattie (Hailee Steinfeld) inquires about a Deputy U.S. Marshal to hire to track down Chaney. She is given three recommendations, but chooses to hire Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges), because he is described as the most merciless. He repeatedly rebuffs her attempts to hire him, believing that she doesn't have the $50 with which to pay him.

Smokin Aces 2 Assassins Ball[UnRated- Edition]

Walter Weed is an unassuming desk jockey at the FBI when the Bureau uncovers a plot to assassinate him. Mysterious Hal Leuco has hired several assassins to take out Weed on April 19th at exactly 3:00am, these include Ariella Martinez, a femme fatale who kills her victims with exotic poisons; Finbar McTeague who is also known as "The Surgeon", who brutally tortures his victims; the Southern Tremor family consisting of father, Fritz and children; Lester, Kaitlyn and Baby Boy and finally Lazlo Soot, a master of disguise assassin.

An FBI unit, led by Special Agent Zane Baker secures Weed in a bar in a small town. The bar, run by Special Agent Malcolm Little has a bunker deep below it and several lines of defense stand between the assassins and Weed, locked down inside of it with Baker and Agents Nicholas and Redstone. On the surface, Agent Dominic Dumare; Little; Abrego; Salerno and an entire unit of FBI agents act as patrons or staff at the bar. The assassins enter the town in separate manners, all ready to meet the 3am deadline. McTeague and Martinez meet in the bar; while the Tremors kill the agents on the roof across from the bar and prepare to storm the bar. Soot kills Agent Dumare in his hotel room and disguises himself as him, allowing him access to the bunker.

Dwayne Johnson Joins Vin Diesel in the 'Fast Five'

Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson Universal Pictures It seemed like "The Fast and Furious" movie franchise had run out of gas, but then 2009's "Fast & Furious" was a surprise hit, becoming the highest-grossing film of the series with a gross of $359 million worldwide.

Since bringing Vin Diesel and Paul Walker from the original worked so well for the fourth movie, it was only natural that they'd team up again for the fifth. They're back in the next installment called "Fast Five," and this time, they will be joined by cast members from each of the previous movies.

But if one muscle-bound bruiser with a shaved head wasn't enough for you, "Fast Five" ups the ante with the addition of Dwayne Johnson. Watch the brand new trailer, and read on to find out who is returning and how the artist formerly known as "The Rock" fits in. (Viewer discretion advised: contains violent content)

Diesel and Walker, along with costar Jordana Brewster, reunited after eight years for "Fast & Furious," and they all return for "Fast Five." Michelle Rodriguez, the other holdover from the original film, is not in this new one because -- SPOILER ALERT -- she was killed in the last movie. "Fast Five" picks up where the previous movie left off, with those three on the run after breaking Diesel out of prison.

Joining them from the second installment, "2 Fast 2 Furious," are Tyrese Gibson and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges. Sung Kang, who starred in the third movie "Tokyo Drift," is back as well. Kang also appeared in "Fast & Furious," even though his character died in movie #3. Chronologically, the events of "Tokyo Drift" take place after "Fast Five" (which may explain the absence of "Drift" stars Lucas Black and Bow Wow).  Plus, Tego Calderon and Gal Gadot, who were added to the series in "Fast & Furious," reprise their roles as well.

The big addition to this chapter of the series is, of course, Dwayne Johnson. After finding success in a number of family films, Johnson has been trying to re-establish himself as an action star. His recent attempt, the similarly titled but unrelated "Faster," underperformed at the box office, so far earning just $21 million. In that movie, he was a hard-driving ex-convict pursued by the authorities, but in "Fast Five" he's the one doing the chasing. He plays a federal agent who is on the trail of Diesel and Walker in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.

"Fast Five" is going to get an early start on the summer movie season, opening on April 29th, 2011.

Moby Dick (2010)

The film takes place in the modern day, and follows Dr. Michelle Herman (Renée O'Connor), who has recently joined a submarine - the USS Pequod - commanded by Captain Ahab (Barry Bostwick), who is on an obsessive hunt throughout the seas for a giant whale.

Herman becomes anxious as Ahab's insanity worsens throughout the voyage, and crescendos as the submarine finally crosses paths with the giant whale.

Unstoppable

After panning across some idling diesel locomotives under the opening credits, the film begins with scenes at two rail yards in different regions of Pennsylvania run by the Allegheny and West Virginia Railroad (AWVR). In the Fuller yard in northern Pennsylvania, children arrive for a school field trip on rail safety. Meanwhile, in the southern Pennsylvania town of Stanton, Will Colson (Chris Pine) gets up for work, stopping to surreptitiously watch his wife put their son on the school bus. He calls her but she refuses to even answer.

Arriving at work, Colson, a conductor, gets his orders for the day and learns he will be working with engineer Frank Barnes (Denzel Washington), with whom he has never worked before. He goes to a group of older workers, with whom he has some barbed words over their age differences, and finds Barnes among them. While he goes to punch in, the other older workers complain about being displaced by Colson, who they say got his job through family connections in the union.    More>>
