'Zoolander 2' brings back Will Ferrell as evil Mugatu, Jonah Hill inspires new villain

Zoolander 2 is set to be released in 2012 and sees the return of Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson as rival male models and Will Ferrell as the evil fashion mogul Mugatu, while Jonah Hill will play a new villain.

Justin Theroux, the film's director, is co-writing the script. He says the sequel will see Stiller and Wilson's characters, Derek Zoolander and Hansel, who was until this point "so hot right now", starting off in a bad place - their 40s.

"They're about to ring 40's bell," Theroux told MTV News. "They have to claw their way back into the fashion industry in some way or another."In the first Zoolander film, released in 2001, Mugatu tries to brainwash Zoolander and make him assassinate the Malaysian prime minister when the Frankie Goes To Hollywood song "Relax" is played at a fashion show in order to ensure the country retains cheap child labor. Stiller told OnTheRedCarpet.com in March that a sequel to the hit comedy movie was in the works.

"We are planning on seeing Mugatoo," Theroux said. "There are a couple new villains that step onto the stage, which we are all very happy about. And yes, Jonah is the inspiration for one of them."

Hill has starred in films such as Superbad, Knocked Up and Get Him to the Greek.

Ferrell and Hill can also be heard voicing characters in the animated film Megamind, which is set for release on November 5. Ferrell and some 1,580 people dressed as superheroes gathered in Los Angeles on October 2 and broke a Guinness World Record for the "Largest Gathering of Superheroes" as part of a promotional event for the movie.

LAS VEGAS – Bruno Mars, singer of the hit R&B song "Just the Way You Are," faces a felony cocaine charge stemming from his arrest after a performance at a Las Vegas nightclub last month.

The Clark County district attorney's office filed a criminal complaint Friday alleging the rising singer-songwriter had 2.6 grams of cocaine when he was arrested Sept. 19 after being detained by a hotel security guard.

Mars, whose real name is Peter Hernandez, is due in court Nov. 18 on the possession of a controlled substance charge. If convicted, he faces up to four years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

"Just the Way You Are" is No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Hernandez, 24, was in Las Vegas for a performance at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino's Wasted Space nightclub.

After the show, a bathroom attendant told police Hernandez was taking a long time in a stall with a bag of a white, powdered substance, according to the arrest report. The attendant alerted a security guard, who confronted Hernandez as he left the stall. The security guard said he asked Hernandez to hand over any narcotics he had, and Hernandez removed a bag of cocaine from his left-front jeans pocket, the arrest report said.

Hernandez was taken to a holding cell, where he was questioned by an arresting officer. When asked what was going on, Hernandez replied: "Can I speak to you honestly, sir?" He said he acted foolishly and had never used drugs before, the arrest report said.

Hernandez sang the hooks on B.o.B's "Nothin' on You" and Travie McCoy's "Billionaire" — both chart-toppers — and co-wrote and produced Cee-Lo Green's latest expletive-laden single.

His label, Elektra Records, released a brief statement Friday: "We congratulate Bruno Mars on his chart-topping success, and provide him with our full love and support."

Hernandez's debut album, "Doo-Wops & Hooligans," is scheduled for release Tuesday.

Devon James — the Florida porn star who claimed Tiger Woods was the father of her nine-year-old son — said she has an “explosive” sex tape of her and Woods that she plans to sell to an adult entertainment company in Los Angeles, RadarOnline reported Wednesday.

"The tape is 62 minutes long and 37 minutes of it is us having sex," James told the celebrity gossip website before she boarded a plane Wednesday in her hometown of Tampa Bay to travel to Los Angeles.

James said the tape was made in 2008 and estimated it could sell for up to $350,000.

“It’s going to be the bomb,” she said of the footage.

Judge sends Lindsay Lohan back to jail

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — A judge sent Lindsay Lohan back to jail Friday after she failed a drug test, and the troubled starlet could stay there for nearly a month.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elden S. Fox did not set bail and Lohan was taken into custody immediately after the hearing at the Beverly Hills courthouse.

Fox set Lohan's next court appearance for Oct. 22. It will be Lohan's third jail stint for a three-year-old drug and drunken driving case filed after a pair of high-profile arrests in 2007.

Her previous stays at a women's jail in a Los Angeles suburb lasted 84 minutes and 14 days.

Lohan acknowledged failing a court-ordered drug screening last week in a series of Twitter postings.

Lohan arrived at the Beverly Hills courthouse Friday about 10 minutes before the hearing was set to start, wearing sunglasses and accompanied by her mother, Dina. Her father, Michael Lohan, arrived earlier.

It was the "Mean Girls" star's first appearance before Fox, who had said at a previous hearing he would sentence her to a month in jail for each drug test she skipped or failed.

The actress wasn't present for that hearing, which was held hours after her release from rehab.

Lohan has twice been released early due to overcrowding, with her longest jail stay a 14-day stint on a 90-day sentence earlier this summer.

Lohan seemed to acknowledge an addiction problem after news of her positive drug test broke last week.

"Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn't go away over night," Lohan posted on her Twitter feed last Friday. "I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps.

"This is certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I'm prepared to face the consequences," her posts said.

The actress remains on probation for a reckless driving and two driving under the influence charges, all misdemeanors. Fox dropped two drug cases at a hearing in August during which he announced Lohan's release from rehab and set out a strict outpatient treatment schedule that included random drug screenings.

Fox has sealed Lohan's court file, but a source familiar with the case has told The Associated Press that the actress' failed test came roughly two weeks after her release from rehab.

On Thursday, law enforcement and court officials said they did not know how Fox would handle Lohan's case, but that they were prepared for any ruling.

"Whatever he determines, we'll abide by," said Jane Robison, a district attorney's spokeswoman. "Sentencing is in his hands."

Steve Whitmore, a sheriff's department spokesman, agreed, saying the jail was ready to book Lohan if necessary.

Despite the sentencing, she will likely be released within days due to overcrowding. She has twice been released early to overcrowding, with Lohan's longest jail stay a 14-day stint on a 90-day sentence earlier this summer.

Lohan's previous jail appearance in 2007 lasted 84 minutes. Her 90-day sentence at an inpatient rehab facility last month was shortened to 23 days.

Another stint in rehab remains a possibility, especially since Lohan seemed to acknowledge an addiction problem after news of her positive drug test broke last week.

Michael Nasatir, a veteran criminal defense attorney who has represented clients in Fox's court said he expects the judge to evaluate whether Lohan is serious about treatment.

"She's in front of a very, very fair judge and he knows the process of recovery," Nasatir said. "He knows that relapses are a process of recovery."

He said whether Lohan wants to change is up to her.

"This is a talented girl whose window of opportunity in her professional life is not that long," Nasatir said. "She's seen some good productive years go down the drain."

Porn Stars as Rappers

You're probably not used to seeing porn stars like Pinky fully clothed or standing upright but as of late many have been taken to rocking the mic in the traditional sense as MCs -- but can we really take them seriously?

Lately, more and more porn stars have been picking up the mic and putting down the KY Jelly in an effort to demonstrate their skills as MCs. Popular black porn star Pinky is the latest to test her talents with the music video for the song "Bad Bitch." Pinky isn't the first -- and probably won't be the last -- porn star to make an attempt to transition into the role of a rapper.

Porn icon Heather Hunter tried her hand at hip-hop and released a rap album in 2005 titled 'Double H: The Unexpected.' But the real unexpected part was the fact that she connected with self-proclaimed porn aficionado DJ Premier for the song "Freak Like Me" and also featured production from Scott Storch on the album. The fact was that Hunter wanted to be taken seriously as an MC. But regardless of who she had help her, it was still too difficult to see a woman known for the use of her body's orifices as a real "spitta" and not just a swallower.

Other porn stars have given rapping a shot. Semi-retired porn star India owns her own record company Black Widow Entertainment and released an album in 2006 titled 'Role Play.' She released a video for the song 'Get It Girl' but again, nobody cared. Jake Steed also dabbled in rap and featured his songs on his porn series title "Freaks, Whoes & Flows."

Probably the most notable name to grace the blogs is Brian Pumper who has been trying his hardest to be noticed as a rapper. He's dissed Rick Ross and exploited Morpheus Lawrence Fishburne's daughter in order to get people to pay attention. We've paid attention, heard the music and the verdict is that it is flat out horrific to the degree that we'd rather stage dive into a bin of hypodermic needles rather than hear him spit 16 bars about "Oh and It's Shaved." Yuck.

The bottom line is that most of these porn stars turned rappers flat out suck. That's not to say that there isn't a porn star somewhere with some skills, but nobody thus far has demonstrated ability on the mic that would blow anyone away. Taking into consideration that they have sex on camera for a living and it's quite difficult for the general public to care about what they have to say. And it's not just because they do porn. We've treated athletes, actors and just about anyone who comes from another industry the same when it comes to infiltrating the music business. Porn stars pique our curiosity, but that's about it. Stick to what you do best.

NEW YORK — Hip-hop star Kanye West is still feeling the pain over his ambush of Taylor Swift last year — and he's expressing his pain all over Twitter.

West unleashed a torrent of emotions on his official Twitter account Saturday, acknowledging once again that he was wrong for jumping on stage, grabbing the microphone from Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards and saying her trophy should have gone to Beyonce.

But the rapper-producer said that he has experienced enormous pain, been the subject of death wishes and suffered tremendous setback to his career.

"How deep is the scar ... I bled hard ... cancelled tour with the number one pop star in the world ... closed the doors of my clothing office," he tweeted.

The multiplatinum, Grammy-winning superstar had been one of the decade's most successful and critically acclaimed stars, despite sometimes boorish behavior and meltdowns at other awards shows when things did not go his way.

However, when he upstaged Swift — the then-teenage darling of pop and country music worlds —the public had had enough. There was tremendous backlash against West — even President Barack Obama was caught calling him a "jackass."

At the time, he went on Jay Leno's prime-time show to apologize and said he still had not recovered from his mother's death two years prior. He said he would be taking time off from the public eye.

That time off came sooner than expected. He canceled a joint tour with Lady Gaga that fall, apparently due to low ticket sales. On Twitter, West talked about the backlash.

"I'm the guy who at one point could perform the Justin Timberlake on stage and everyone would be sooo happy that I was there," he wrote.

After the incident, he said, "People tweeted that they wish I was dead ... No listen. They wanted me to die people. I carry that. I smile and take pictures through that."

West said he's now "ready to get out of my own way. The ego is overdone."

He also apologized to Swift again, and said he has written a song for her that he hopes she will perform.

"If she won't take it then I will perform it for her," he said.

West is working on a new album that is supposed to come out sometime this fall. A recent member of Twitter, West has been an active user, posting not only his feelings, but new songs and other updates. He has over 900,000 followers since he joined earlier this summer.

"Man I love Twitter ... I've always been at the mercy of the press but no more ... The media tried to demonize me," he tweeted Saturday.

Will Packer: Black Hollywood Power Broker Attracts The Best, And Cracks Box Office

If there's anyone, besides Tyler Perry and Spike Lee, in the film industry currently bringing business to the film community, it's power producer Will Packer of Rainforest Films.
The Florida native's latest film, 'Takers,' just beat out 'The Last Exorcism' for the top spot at the box office despite showing in less theaters and overcoming low predictions from top film analysts.

In the last few years, Packer has attracted some of the most marketable names in the black Hollywood community and given them starring vehicles such as Columbus Short and Chris Brown, who did well with 'Stomp The Yard.' That was Packer's first film to hit number #1 at the box office.

With 'This Christmas,' the film starred Idris Elba, Loretta Devine, Chris Brown, Columbus Short, Regina King, Sharon Leal, and Lauren London. On a budget of $13 million, the film went on to gross $50 million.

In giving 16-time Grammy winning pop star and actress Beyonce Knowles a lead role in 'Obsessed,' the film ended its opening weekend at the top of the box office, claiming the #1 position with a total of $28.6 million.


Black Voices caught up the mega-producer as he spoke about his recent success and upcoming projects. Below are excerpts of the conversation.

Congrats on having the #1 movie in America!

Will Packer: It's a phenomenal feeling to have my third #1 box office hit. I know that many producers don't have one. I feel inspired and driven to continue to deliver product that connects with audiences.

Now that the film is out, any plans to do a follow-up on the film?

WP: Trust me, we have talked about that at length. It all depends on audiences. Audiences don't know the power that they have. If audiences turn out the way I hope they will you'll be seeing plenty more of 'Takers.'

Let's talk about how you went into this picture?

WP: Screen Gems, who I have a long working relationship with, and the head, a guy named Clint Culpepper, called me up and said, "I've got this script called 'Bone Deep.'" I knew about it because I distributed a picture called 'Lockdown' that starred Master P., Richard T. Jones, Gabriel Casseus, and some others. It was a dark, gritty prison movie.

I remember that film.



WP: John Luessenhop directed it, and wrote it. He had told me about a script he had written called 'Bone Deep.' I knew that was his next project. . He didn't actually write it, Gabriel Casseus wrote it, brought it to him and he was gonna direct it. So I was familiar with it but I never read it. It had been bouncing around for awhile, Clint sent it to me, said, "I wanna make this picture, haven't been able to get it goin'. Check it out, let me know what you think." I read it, immediately I was like, "yo, this is dope." I said it's all about the casting, you gotta figure out the cast. It went through various iterations, one where it was all-white, another where it was all-black , a couple other producers had been involved with it, it was one of those properties that bounces around all the time that hadn't found its way. He sent it to me, one of the first calls I made was to Idris. Idris is my guy, this is like our fourth movie together. He was in London shooting the Guy Ritchie movie, 'Rocknrolla.' I won't say I had to talk him into it, but he had some reservations about it. We talked through them, we talked through the cast, and talked about why it was important for him to play Gordon. I didn't want it to be an all-black crew, didn't want it to be an all-white crew but I knew I wanted Idris and all he personifies to be the leader of the crew. That was important for me. And he came on. He said, 'Look Will, if you doin' it, you believe in it, give me some assurances this thing is gonna be dope." 'Cause, you know, it's kinda execution dependent.' I said, 'C'mon man, I got you, we haven't made a wack one yet." From there we kinda put the cast together and we were off and rolling. There were some challenges along the way. We halted production at one time 'cause of T.I., release date got pushed. At the end of the day I think it's dropping when it's supposed to drop and I'm proud of it.

Let's talk about the cast 'cause it's very eclectic. You've got white, black, and Latino. You're covering all markets. You also have your rappers and singers like Chris Brown and T.I. What made you want to bring them on?

WP: With Chris I produced all his movies. He's done 'Stomp The Yard,' 'This Christmas,' and now 'Takers.' I like Chris, that's my guy, he's a really good dude. I have a good working relationship with him, and he brought a level of physicality to this role that was so necessary, and when you see the film you'll know what I mean. He's got a chase sequence that is really top-notch. He was perfect for that role as the younger brother who's the new guy in the crew who has this pivotal scene. Chris made a lot of sense for us, and the studio loved him. T.I. I've known since my time in Atlanta. Him, his partner Vincent Jeter. He and my partner Rob, we hang, we homies, right? We hadn't had a project to work together on. They had been familiar with the project, it had been mentioned to them before. It had been mentioned for T.I. to be another role, to be a part of the crew back before I was on as producer, but I came to him specifically as Ghost, specifically. I needed somebody to play the Ghost character who was likeable, who had swag, and who had an edge. He was all three, hands down. This was a good opportunity to make it our first foray into a working relationship.

You also have a pre-Avatar Zoe Saldana in the movie. For those who don't know when the film was shot, they may wonder why she has a small role, especially after having seen her in 'Star Trek' and 'Avatar.'

WP: It was after 'Vantage Point,' and it was actually after 'Avatar' was shot. The thing about 'Avatar' was it was shot over the course of like seven years, you know what I mean? They were shooting forever. When I was doing 'This Christmas' with Laz (Alonzo) was leaving to do 'Avatar,' and when I geared up to do 'Takers,' I wanted Laz for a role and he was still shooting 'Avatar,' so that shot over the course of a long time. With Zoe we needed someone who could hold her own against all these guys. You got some really good lookin' dudes in this movie, sexy, and you can't just have any female to put up next to them. I love her. This is my first time working with her. Obviously I'm familiar and had been a fan of her work, but the first time I got a chance to work with her she brought it, man. Even in that little role she's dope, she's good. Would I be able to get her for the same role after 'Avatar' is released? Probably not. Zoe, answer my calls, baby!


Throughout the production there's always challenges, but when there's outside challenges like Chris Brown's legal issues. How much did it impact filming or the release date?

WP: Filming had to be pushed initially because of some of the stuff T.I. was going through. There was never a question of us waiting for him, we knew we were gonna wait. We were fortunate that we were able to shoot the movie in a time period that worked for him. That was that. A lot of people thought we pushed the release date because of Chris but we really didn't. We're distributed by Sony and you're kind of at the whim of your distributor and they needed to bring it out at that particular time frame. Then it was during the summer and I didn't like that date because I think our film is really cool and hip but I didn't want it to go up against some of the huge huge action pics. It's a big film of size and scope relative to what it is, other moderately sized films, but it's nowhere near the budget of 'A-Team,' or 'Inception.' So we then pushed it to a date to line up with T.I.'s album which was slated to drop, and I thought it would be a perfect storm. You have to look at everything when you're picking a date for a movie, like competition, and what else is going on in the country.

You mentioned Chris and the chase scene. As a producer were you worried about the stunts he was pulling off?

WP: Hell yeah. When you shoot a movie of this size you have to shoot multiple units at a time. We had a camera unit that would be shooting dialogue and dramatic interactions, and another unit that would be shooting just stunts and action. Chris would be off on his own shooting his action sequences. I'm only one person, I can only be on one set at a time. I would be goin' back-and-forth between the two. If we let him, Chris would do every stunt. Not 90%, 100% of his own stunts. I was like the adult supervision, so when I would leave he would be talking the second unit cameramen into letting him do his own stunts. I would say, "Chris! We've got 30 more days to film, you just cannot jump from one moving car to another moving car. I can't have you get hurt on week two of production."

What have you got coming up next? You mentioned 'The Kemba Smith Story.'

WP: You know it takes time, Wilson. 'Takers' took ten years to get to the screen. 'Kemba Smith' still going, man. That is a project that's near and dear to my heart. It's based on a true story of a woman who was sentenced to 24-years in prison because she was dating somebody on the FBI's most wanted list. Steve Harvey's 'Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man' is still going, and we're working on the script. 'Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming' will be out on home video next month.

You've worked with Beyonce before, any chance of putting another film together for her?

WP: Oh absolutely, we got a great relationship. She's dope, and I would work with her in a heartbeat. It's about finding the right project. There's a lot of okay material out there, but actors don't like to work on okay material, they like to work on great material.

All your films are popular, but 'Kemba Smith' would be a new approach. Are you looking for other opportunities like that?

WP: You need to be able to do a wide variety of films. I can work with various directors and actors and each time it can be a totally different movie. I just hope at the end of the day a Will Packer film is something with a level of commercial viability and hopefully garner some critical acclaim as well. Still trying to hit that sweet spot.

Regina King to the Emmys: Racist as Ever

From The Huffington Post: Since the Emmy ceremony, I have been going back and forth about whether or not I should compose this letter. I try hard in my daily life not to engage in uncomfortable situations regarding race. But sometimes it's very difficult to find other reasons that better explain why certain events play out the way they do. It is impossible for me to ignore the published statistics regarding the number of people of color mentioned, celebrated or honored in the history of the televised Emmys. Up to and including this year, there have been only 53 non-white actors nominated for emmys out of nearly 1,000 possible nominations in the top four acting categories for drama and comedy.

Drake and Nicki Minaj Married? Dating and Marriage Rumors Hit Twitter – Sorry ladies but Drake is a married man now. Yep you heard right, rapper Drake has wed fellow label mate and rap sensation Nicki Minaj. The story might be fake but the duo has the internet on fire as we publish this.

Millions of fans are seeking the truth, did they really get married, or is it a joke?

The story hit the news outlets after Minaj wrote on her Twitter page:

“Yes, its true. Drake and I tied the knot.”

Seconds later Drake tweeted:

“Please refer to @nickiminaj as Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham and dont stare at her too long. She’s finally mine. ”

When Drake and Minaj’s reps were quizzed on the matter they refused to confirm or deny the story but laughed as if this was a big joke.

This might be a joke to Minaj but I think Drake might really have feelings for the female rapper.

Drake professed his love on “Miss Me”:

“I love Nicki Minaj, I told her, I’d admit it/I hope one day we get married just to say we f***ing did it/And girl, I’m f***ing serious with it if you with it/’Cause your verses turn me on, and your pants are mighty fitted.”

So is fake? Is this a hoax to promote her upcoming CD “Pink Friday”? Do you think they should really get married? Should Lil Kim be invited to the wedding?

Demi Moore seems to be going to great lengths to remind us she's still sexy ... as if we needed reminding.

First, Moore got up at a Snoop Dogg concert over the past week to do a very dirty dance in front of a capacity crowd in Las Vegas.

Now Mrs. Ashton Kutcher joins thee over-40 bikini babe party with the racy photos that appeared on the mrskutcher TwitPic account. Moore appears to be in a bathroom showing off her toned body in a two-piece.

Did we mention she's 47? Wow.

The well-preserved actress -- who recently 'fessed up to getting plastic surgery in the past -- looks firm and foxy in her revealing snakeskin-print string bikini as she dons dark sunglasses and strikes a pose in a bathroom.

"Maybe this is more like summer!" she Tweeted of the sexy self-portraits.

Now maybe we should demand a recount for the just-released World's Hottest Bikini Bodies List.

Jamie Foxx: Returning to Television This Fall

It's been a while since Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx has been on the small screen. As of late, unbeknownst to many, the comedian has been making his presence felt behind the scenes.

The 'Blame It' singer produced the MTV series 'From G's to Gents' which turned slacker men into reformed gentlemen, and also served as an executive producer for the Emmy Award nominated HBO film 'Life Support.'

Now, he's gearing up to get back to his comedic roots with a new Fox sketch comedy series.

This fall, Foxx will produce a new half-hour show tentatively called 'The Jamie Foxx Project.'

Similar to the now defunct Fox sketch comedy series 'Mad TV,' the new show will include spoofs of commercials, television shows and celebrities and according to the network will offer a "fresh take on pop culture."

The Sirius satellite radio host is excited about the new venture.

"I'm looking forward to delivering a groundbreaking new series and working closely with the talented team at FOX again," Foxx said in a statement.

And, FOX President of Entertainment, Kevin Reilly, seemed just as thrilled about the new partnership.

Reilly added, "Jamie Foxx's brilliance first shined on FOC, so it's fantastic to welcome him back to the network."

Before becoming a force in Hollywood with his Oscar-winning portrayal of singer Ray Charles in 'Ray,' Foxx joined the cast of the hit 1990s sketch comedy show 'In Living Color,' as a relative newcomer and made a name for himself alongside the Damon Wayans, Keenan Ivory Wayans, Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans, as well as Jim Carrey, David Alan Grier and Tommy Davidson. The Terrell, Texas native, born Eric Marlon Bishop, followed that up in 1996 with his own sitcom 'The Jamie Foxx Show' which lasted for five seasons.

Also joining the production team for 'The Jamie Foxx Project' is comedian Affion Crockett (pictured above)who has worked on 'The Boondocks,' 'Nick Cannon Presents Short Circuitz' and 'Dance Flick.'

It is unsure whether Foxx and Crockett will appear on the show or simply serve as producers, but they plan to enlist the help of a diverse cast of comedians.

Foxx is rumored to be in pre-production for 'Skank Robbers' a movie with Martin Lawrence where the two men revive their infamous television characters Sheneneh Jenkins from 'Martin' and Wanda from 'In Living Color.' Sony Pictures has set an Aug. 19, 2011 release date for that film.

He will reunite with his 'The Soloist' co-star Robert Downey Jr. for his next film 'Due Date,' which hits theaters on Nov. 5.
