$21 Million Counterfeit Seized At Airport: iPads, DVDs, And Drugs

$21 million in counterfeit items from China were seized by US Federal Agents at the Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky International Airport.  The gadgets that were counterfeit were fake iPads, DVDs, medication and other products that could be sold on the World Wide Web at online auctions or at flea markets.

According to NewPost, the bust was part of "Operation Safe Summer" and "was conducted during the time span of Sept’ 7 to Sept’ 17 at the Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky International Airport by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Border Protection (CBP) and U.S. Customs."

The items were seized between those dates as they passed through DHL's hub at the airport.

"All the pieces came together very nicely," David Murphy, CBP director of field operations in Chicago told Fox 19.

"Our officers, import specialists, federal law enforcement partners and the DHL staff worked together to make this operation a success. CBP is committed to protecting our nation from anything that can cause it harm, including the importation of counterfeit merchandise."
